IA 12th Inf Co G. Residence: Fillmore County, Minnesota. Born 12 Aug 1836 in Norway. Came to the US to Racine County, Wisconsin, in 1836. Went to Winneshiek County, Iowa, in 1854 and to Fillmore County, Minnesota, in 1856. Civil War: Enlisted in fall of 1861. Post war: Married 27 Nov 1872 to Anna Running. Three children. In 1874, they moved to Evansville Township, Douglas County, Minnesota. He died 14 Oct 1916 and was buried in the Lutheran churchyard in Evansville.
