Enrolled for one year on 2 Sep 1864 at La Crosse, Wisconsin, as a substitute for Godfred Ohler, Greenfield, La Crosse County, Wisconsin. Private. Mustered out 13 Jun 1864 at Nashville, Tennessee. Post war: Granted a pension of $20 a month. Died at age 76 of pneumonia on 16 Feb 1920 at Jamesville township, Yankton County, South Dakota, and buried in the Bethlehem Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery there, section 11, lot 9, grave 1.
