Assigned to military police duty with the Brigade on 19th and 20th of June, 1863. Wounded at Chickamauga, Georgia, 19 Sep 1863, and sent to Nashville, Tennessee. Was absent from D Company on recruiting duty 21 and 28 Nov 1863. Was post commander at Strawberry Plains in March 1864. Was acting Sergeant Major at Whiteside, Tennessee. Transferred 20 Nov 1864 to the Regimental Staff at Whiteside and promoted to Sergeant Major, effective from 15 Oct 1864. He is entered on the Roll of Honor of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 20th Army Corps. Post war: He lived at Austin, Minnesota.
