WI 15th Inf Co E. Residence: Primrose, Dane County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Age 26. Married. Enlisted for three years on 20 Dec 1861 in Dane County. Mustered the same day at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Detached as a hospital orderly (Nurse), and left at Bowling Green, Kentucky, 16 Sep 1862 and for awhile in 1863. Sick in hospital at Chattanooga, Tennessee, 28 Nov 1863. Also in Nashville. Wounded in his right side in the Battle at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864. Sent to hospital at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri. Mustered out 20 Dec 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin.
