Enlisted for three years on 4 Nov 1861 at Scandinavia, Wisconsin, and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 20 Dec 1861. Private. Sick at Mississippi River Island No. 10 in September and October, 1863. Was killed in action, a minnie ball shot in his head, at Resaca, Georgia, 15 May 1864. Buried in the National Cemetery at Chattanooga, Tennessee, section L, grave 317.
