VA 41st Inf Co E. CSA. Born 1829 in Norway. Civil War: Mariner. Blue eyes, sandy hair, 5’8”. Enlisted for one year at Norfolk, Virginia on 19 Apr 1861. Private. During the summer of 1861, he joined the crew of a privateer being fitted out at Norfolk, but on 3 Sep 1861, he was ordered back to the Virginia 41st.
