Born 9 Mar 1832 in Vinje, Telemark, Norway, son of Thor Thorbjornsen Kingeland and Aslaug Alfdatter Wommertvedt. He came with his parents and four siblings on “Jupiter”, which arrived in Boston on 9 Aug 1847. They came to Christiana Township, Dane County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Private.
