Lived seven years in Wisconsin; then moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota. Civil War: Age 24. Enrolled 2 Sep 1862. Commissioned Second Lieutenant on 8 Sep 1862. Mustered 18 Oct (or 9 Nov) 1862. Promoted to First Lieutenant. Captain. He commanded the company after 22 Feb 1864. Discharged from the service with his regiment, 19 Aug 1865. Post war: Lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
