KS. Born in Flesberg, Norway on 5 Sep 1823, son of Gudbrand Olsen Lande and Sigrid Reidarsdatter Bringe. He was married on 18 Jul 1842 to Marith Helliksdatter Fjøsemogen. (1823-1906). He came to America with his wife and infant son, Gulbrand, on “Hercules”, which sailed from Drammen and arrived in New York on 1 Jul 1843. They came to Avon Township, Rock County, Wisconsin. Sometime after 1850, they moved to Minnesota and in 1856 went to Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas. Civil War: He served with his Home Guard against Indians. Post war: Died 31 Jul 1899.
