WI 15th Inf Co B. Residence: Neenah, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Age 27. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 24 Oct 1861 at Neenah. Mustered 25 Nov 1861 [or 15 Dec 1861] at Madison, Wisconsin. Sergeant. Promoted to First Sergeant. Sick at Mississippi River Island No. 10 in June, and at Iuka, Mississippi, in July and August 1862. Disappeared from Iuka on the 21st of August, but was returned to Company B at Jackson, Tennessee, on 14 Nov 1862.
