Born 20 Sep 1837 at Skånevik, Hordaland, Norway, son of Lars Anfindsen Yttrebauge and Kari Halvorsdatter Fleskje. He came to America with his foster parents, Anfind Anfindsen Indrebauge and Brynia Knudsdatter Hammersland, on the “Kong Sverre”, which sailed from Bergen and reached New York on 24th or 29th June 1846.
