WI 15th Inf Co C. Residence: Perry, Dane County, Wisconsin. Born in Christiania, Norway. Civil War: Age 27. Married. Enlisted for three years on 25 Jan 1862 at Perry. Mustered 28 Feb 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Named Regimental Commissary Sergeant. Commissioned Second Lieutenant, at Jacinto, Mississippi, on 6 Jul 1862, effective from the 9th, and assigned to Company C. Became acting Quartermaster Officer in Apr 1863. In May 1863 he was acting Commissary Officer of the Brigade. Was in command of the supply train of the 1st Division in September, 1863. Because of illness, he was left behind in Chattanooga, 28 Nov 1863. Was temporary commander of Company A, then made acting post commander at Strawberry Plains in March, 1864. Appointed ambulance director at Brigade Headquarters in April, 1864. Promoted to First Lieutenant on 19 Oct 1864. Absent due to illness on 29 Sep 1864. Mustered out with C Company, 1 Jan 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
