WI 35th Inf Co F. Residence: Christiania, Dane County, Wisconsin. Born in Telemark, Norway, in 1827, son of a shoemaker. Came to America in 1851. Married in 1853 to Christine Olsdatter. Six children, Ole, Louise, Louis, Nels, Caroline, Andrew, all born in Wisconsin. Civil War: Brick maker. Age 37. Black eyes, dark hair, fair complexion, 6’. Enlisted for three years on 20 Jan 1864 at Christiania. Mustered 30 Jan 1864 at Camp Washburn, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bounty paid $60 (a portion of amount due). Private.
