Enlisted for three years on 9 Feb 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 16 Feb 1864. Private. Joined H Company 31 Mar 1864. Wounded at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864, and sent to hospital. Sent to a hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, 22 Jun 1864. Temporarily assigned to the Wisconsin 24th Infantry. Transferred to Company I of the Wisconsin 13th on 10 Jun 1865, but according to records in the War Department, he had already been mustered out at Davenport, Iowa, on 20 May 1865. Post war: Lived at Dexter, Minnesota.
