WI 27th Inf Co H. Born “Iver Christensen Lerum” 11 Dec 1837 in Englehammer (Hammer’n) Norway. Civil War: Age 26. Enlisted for three years on 5 Jan 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Enlistment credited to Black Earth, Dane County, Wisconsin. Mustered 13 Jan 1864 at Madison. Bounty $300, $120 still due at muster out. Private. Joined the regiment on 20 Feb 1864; assigned to Company H the next day. On 18 Oct 1864, he rejoined the regiment from detached service with the Boat Guard at Little Rock, Arkansas. Mustered out with company on 29 Aug 1865 at Brownsville, Texas. Post war: Died 9 Sep 1911 in Durand, Pepin, WI.
