MN Inf. Residence: Spring Grove, Houston County, Minnesota. Born in Norway. Came to America about 1842. Married in 1851 to Maren Von Thaulow Velo. Civil War: Enrolled in 1862. Was said to have been a prisoner of war in Andersonville, Georgia, and that he had escaped. Returned home in 1863. Post war: Died on 6 Feb 1867 of tuberculosis, contracted while imprisoned.
