WI 15th Inf Co I. Residence: St. Lawrence, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Born 17 Mar 1840 in Ringebu, Norway. Came to America in 1861, along with his brother Simon, and rejoined another brother Ole at St. Lawrence. Civil War: Age 21. Unmarried. Enlisted 9 Dec 1861 at Scandinavia, Wisconsin. Mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 20 Dec 1861. Private. Was with the provision transport from Stevenson, Alabama, in October 1863. Sick in Camp hospital 29 May 1864. Sick in June, July and August 1864. Mustered out with I Company at Chattanooga, Tennessee, 10 Feb 1865. Post war: He married widow Annie Erlandson Mortenson on 4 Dec 1867 at New Hope, Portage County, Wisconsin. Seven children. Myhre in 1894 was living on his farm near Iola, Waupaca County. Died 1922. Buried at Northland, Iola.
