Born “Ingebrigt Halvorsen” on 3 Dec 1824, son of Halvor Ingebrigtsen Øverböe. He was married on 13 Mar 1848 to Inger NitterJohannesdatter Rise, a widow of Halvor Torgersen Næs. The pair and her daughter, Ingeborg Marie, came from Luster, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, on board “Augusta”, which sailed out of Bergen and reached New York on 29 Jun 1848.
