Enlisted for three years on 31 Aug 1862 at Freeman, Wisconsin. Mustered the same day at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Wounded 21 Jul 1864 in the charge on Cold Hill near Atlanta, Georgia. Discharged from the service 31 May 1865 at Washington, DC. Post war: Granted a pension of $4 a month because of the wound in his right leg.
