WI 27th Inf Co H. Residence: Christiania, Dane County, Wisconsin. Born 3 Jan 1829 at Årdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, son of Ole Thorkelsen Natvik and Anna Hermansdatter Kinserdal. He, his parents, and three brothers, came to America in 1847 to the Koshkonong settlement in Dane County, Wisconsin. He moved by 1860 to Wood County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Mechanic. Age 33. Blue eyes, dark hair, light complexion, 5’8”, stout build. Enlisted for three years on 12 Aug 1862 at Christiania. Mustered 25 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bounty $100, $75 still due at muster out. Designated Corporal 22 Oct 1862. Promoted to Sergeant 28 May 1864. Mustered out with company on 29 Aug 1865 at Brownsville, Texas. Post war: Married, 20 Jan 1868, to Mary E. Warren (1851-1941). Four children. Moved in 1871 to Chaseburg, Vernon County, Wisconsin, where he operated a sawmill. Died 14 May 1921.
