WI 15th Inf Co B. Residence: Pleasant Spring, Dane County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Age 21. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 12 Oct 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 16 Nov 1861. Private. Promoted to Sergeant. Wounded at Stone’s River, 31 Dec 1862. One report says he was sent to Nashville. Another says he was taken prisoner at Stone’s River, and exchanged in St. Louis and in Annapolis, Maryland. Was back in B Company on 13 Oct 1863, and assigned to the provisional transport from Stevenson, Alabama. Mustered out with B Company at Chattanooga, Tennessee, 2 Dec 1864.
