Enlisted for three years on 31 Dec 1865 at La Crosse, Wisconsin, and mustered there the same day. Recruit. Private. Was in all the battles and skirmishes the regiment was engaged in up to 21 Jul 1864. Wounded in the battle for Atlanta, Georgia. Was in a hospital until the battle ended. Marched through the Carolinas, Virginia and into Washington DC. Mustered out at Louisville, Kentucky, 12 Jul 1865 with his company.
