Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at Chicago. Mustered 29 Oct 1862 at Camp Butler, Illinois. Private. Transferred to the Veterans Reserve Corps. Mustered out 24 May 1865 at New York. Post war: In March 1867, while living in Plankinton, Dakota Territory, he was granted a pension of $4 a month because of a wound to his left arm. Died 1885. Buried in the Plankinton, South Dakota, Cemetery.
