Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at Primrose. Mustered 25 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. Promoted to Corporal 11 Feb 1864. Absent sick at Little Rock, Arkansas, general hospital 23 Mar 1864; rejoined company on 10 Jul 1864. On 9 Mar 1865 he was absent on detached service at Mobile Point, Alabama “as guard at the landing” protecting commissaries. Rejoined his company on 17 May 1865. Mustered out 29 Aug 1865.
