AR 4th Inf Co E. CSA. Born about 1831 in Norway. Civil War: Enlisted for one year on 17 Aug 1861 near Mount Vernon, Missouri. First Sergeant. Elected (?) Second Lieutenant on 8 May 1862, with rank from 3 Mar 1862. Named Acting Commissary and Subsistence Officer on 13 Aug 1862 and assigned to Regimental Staff with rank of Captain.
