WI 15th Inf Co K. Residence: Verona, Dane County, Wisconsin. Born “Karilius Olsen” on 17 May 1837 at Saeta, Grue, Solor, Norway. Civil War: Age 26. Enlisted for three years on 11 Jan 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 28 Jan 1864. Private. Joined the WI 15th Inf Co K at Strawberry Plains, Virginia, 31 Mar 1864. Wounded in his left leg at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864, and sent to hospital. He was later moved to Madison, Wisconsin. Assigned to Veteran Reserve Corps 20 Dec 1864. Mustered out at Davenport, Iowa, 18 Sep 1865. Post war: He was granted a pension of $14 a month because of the wound to his left leg. Olson died in 1894 at Madison, Wisconsin.
