Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at Columbus, Columbia County. Mustered 30 Aug 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Left in hospital at Nicholasville, Kentucky, 8 Nov 1862. Discharged from the service for disability at Helena, Arkansas, on 1 Jan 1865. Post war: Married on 20 Oct 1870 to Ingeborg Larsdatter Kallestad (1852-1928?). Three children. While living in Rice Lake, Barron County, he was granted a pension of $18 a month because of disabilities of his lungs. He died 1 Jan 1889 and was buried at Our Savior Lutheran Church Cemetery, Barron County, Wisconsin.
