Born”Hans Olsen Kjønaas” on 6 Feb 1834 at Bø, Telemark, Norway, son of Ole Evensen Kjønaas and Ingeborg Hansdatter. He came to America with his parents and two sisters on “Argo”, which sailed from Havre, France, and arrived in New York on 26 Jul 1843. They came to Vernon Township, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. He was married in March 1863 to Turi Helgesdatter. Civil War: Post war: Became a farmer in Bancroft Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota. He died 1909. Sources: (Naeseth ’43-1126)
