Enlisted for three years on 26 Nov 1861 at Decorah and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 29 Dec 1861. Private. Promoted to Corporal. Wounded in the Battle at Stone’s River, Tennessee, 30 & 31 Dec 1862, and sent to hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Served as an escort with the provision transport from Stevenson, Alabama, in October 1863. Sick in Chattanooga, Tennessee, 28 Nov 1863, and sent to Convalescent Center there. Died of disease in General Hospital at Knoxville, Tennessee, 17 Mar 1864. Buried in National Cemetery at Knoxville; section 6, grave 12.
