OLSON, Ole C.

MI 5th Cav Co F. Residence: Cedar Creek, Muskegon County, Michigan. Born 1 Feb 1842 in Sonomet Prestegjeld, Norway, a son of Christian Olson and Bertha Torgersdatter. Civil War: Age 21. Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at White River. Mustered 28 Aug 1862. Private. Promoted to Sergeant. Said to have taken part in the Grand Review in Washington DC on 23 May 1865. Mustered out on 22 Jun 1865 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Post war: Married in Michigan on 13 Apr 1867 to Anne Margrethe Hanson. Six children. Married in Muskegon, Michigan, on 27 Feb 1901 to Marta Eriksdatter Hopperstad. In 1903, they were living at Holton, Muskegon County, Michigan. He died there of heart disease on 8 Sep 1925 and was buried in the Lutheran Cemetery at Holton.
