Enlisted for three years on 9 Aug 1862 at Chicago, Illinois. Mustered on 24 Aug 1862 at Chicago. Private. Sick with heart troubles at Chattanooga, Nashville and Louisville. Took part in battles at Chickamauga and Atlanta. Promoted to Corporal. Discharged from the service 9 Jun 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. Post war: Came to Hayward Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota after the war. Joined the Albert Lea GAR post. Died at age 86 at the Soldier’s Home in Minneapolis in 1931.
