MN Mounted Rangers, 1st Regiment, Co I. Residence: Beaver, Fillmore County, Minnesota. Born 1832 in Hurdal, Norway. Married on 25 Feb 1857 to Margit Halvorsdatter. Came to America in 1857 and to Fillmore County. Civil War: Age 30. Enrolled 6 Nov 1862. Mustered 1 Dec 1862. Private. Served in Indian and Civil wars. Disabled, loss of an eye. Discharged from the service with his company, 1 Dec 1863. Post war: In 1879, he moved to Cottonwood County, Minnesota. Peterson died in 1894 and is buried in Old Westbrook Church Cemetery. His widow died 4 May 1915 in Westbrook.
