Post war: Married on 26 Apr 1868 to Maren (Kvie) Nelson. Twelve children. Started a sawmill in Helvetia, Wisconsin. Died 6 Jun 1930 at Iola, Wisconsin. Buried in Zion Cemetery, Iola.
