TX 3rd Cav Co G. CSA. Born “Otto Theodor Reiersen” on 7 Dec 1842 at Strengereid, Holt, Norway. Civil War: Enlisted for one year on 3 Jun 1861 at Jefferson, Texas. Private. He had previously been a Private in Capt. J.Wharton’s “Texas Wide Awakes” in Kaufman County, part of the 13th Brigade of the Texas State Troops. In hospital at Little Rock, Arkansas, from May through Aug 1862. Wounded at Spring Hill, Tennessee, on 5 Mar 1863. Absent because of his wound from Mar through Jun 1863. On extra duty taking care of government mules during Sep – Oct 1863. Was taken prisoner 14 Jun 1864 during fighting at Lost Mountain, Georgia. Held at Camp Morton, Indiana. Exchanged Mar 1865. Post war: Was living in 1880.
