Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at Viroqua, Wisconsin. Mustered 14 Sep 1862 at La Crosse, Wisconsin. Private. “Was ever present with the Company and was noted as a Brave and faithful soldier and was promoted to Corporal December ’63 and was in all marches and Battles up to July 22nd when killed. Being one of the seventeen that charged two hundred Rebels and drove them in the Streets of Decatur Ga.
