WI 36th Inf Co H. Residence: Utica, Crawford County, Wisconsin. Enlistment credited to Wyalusing, Grant County. Born in Norway. Civil War: Age 25. Farmer. Married. Blue eyes, sandy hair, light complexion, 5’7½”. Enlisted for three years on 29 Feb 1864 at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Mustered 14 Mar 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Transferred to the Veterans Reserve Corps 28 Apr 1865. Discharged for disability on 31 Jul 1865 from Portsmouth Grove, Rhode Island. Post war: A veteran named Ole Severson of Rising Sun, Crawford County, in April 1879 was granted a pension of $4 a month because of the loss of part of his index and middle fingers of his right hand.
