Assigned to the 51st on 29 Apr 1865. “No evidence of disability.” Mustered out with his company at Madison, Wisconsin, on 4 May 1865. Post war: Died 15 Jun 1877 at Madison of a disease contracted in service. His widow, Anne Sorinsen (sic), then 47, applied for pension on 24 Jun 1887 at Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. She listed their children as August Sorenson, born 25 Jun 1861; twins Andrew and Tillie Sorenson, born 8 Sep 1867; Tommie Sorenson, born 17 Dec 1869; all of Clear Lake, Iowa; and Samuel Sorenson, born 5 Apr 1864, of Devil’s Lake, Dakota.
