On detached service at Indian Creek railroad since 23 Jun 1865. Mustered out with this Company on 27 Sep 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. Post war: Lived at Moscow, Iowa County, in 1880, with his wife and eight children. He was a brother to Ole Steensland of WI 15th Inf Co E.
