WI 15th Inf Co H. Residence: Utica, Dane County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Farmer. Age 18. Married. Brown eyes, dark hair, light complexion, 5’8½”. Enlisted for three years on 28 Oct 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 13 Feb 1862. Assigned as Corporal. Seriously wounded at Stone’s River, Tennessee, 31 Dec 1862, and sent to a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Declared unfit for service and discharged from the service for his wounds 10 Jun 1863. Granted a pension of $18 a month because of a wound to his right thigh.
