Enlisted for three years on 1 Jan 1862 at Manitowoc and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 11 Jan 1862. Private. Sick at regimental hospital 20 Jul 1862 and at Iuka, Mississippi, 21 Aug 1862. Wounded in his left hand at the Battle of Chickamauga, Georgia, 19 Sep 1863, and sent to Camp hospital. Sick in Stevenson, Alabama. Sick in Madison 1 Jan 1864. Mustered out with Company F on 13 Jan 1865 at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Post war: Granted a pension of $4 a month because of a wound to his right hand. Died 12 May 1904. Buried at Valders, Wisconsin.
