Enlisted for three years on 31 Jul 1862 at Milwaukee. Mustered there on 15 Aug 1862. Private. Was in Chaplain Hills and Stone’s River, where he was taken prisoner. Returned to the regiment in Jul 1863. Taken prisoner again at Chickamauga, Georgia. Died of scurvy in Andersonville prison, Georgia, on 10 Feb 1865. Buried in grave 12626.
