Carved and turned ale bowl made from one piece of wood. Typical early Telemark rosemaling style design. Inscription on inner rim. May have been painted by Talleiv Maalar as his signature designs contain rectangles and triangles combined with slender elegant floral forms (Nils Ellingsgard, 1979).

Inscription: Inscription is difficult to read, but it begins with 1784 Nå Vil Vi Drikke imees vi Formaa

Translation: Now we will drink while we are able
