This fish-shaped server has geometric open-work design that includes zodiac fish signs in the center. There is a shallow line and prick engraving on the server and handle.

Marks: City gate over seven balls (Bergen mark); P (assayer’s mark of Matthias Pettersen); PCB (mark of Peder Christensen Beyer; 92 (indicating that it was made in 1792); the sign for Capricorn (indicating that it was made in January).

This fish server came from the home of Storm Bull Sr., who was educated in Norway as an engineer and became the first dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin.
