This monumental 16 inch spoon would have been used to serve stews and porridge. This one has a typical eighteenth century fiddle-shaped handle. The only mark on the spoon is a DS, indicating that it was made by Daniel Erichsen Schebs, who was a master goldsmith in 1767 and died in 1788.
