Wool sweater with all-over knit floral pattern in bands of rose, maroon, green, and gold. Red velvet band at front opening, gold painted buttons with central red glass stone.
This sweater was designed by Solveig Hisdal, the award-winning principal designer for Oleana. Hisdal was inspirited after a visit to Vesterheim in 1998. The large floral pattern in the sweater is taken from the bodice of a costume in Vesterheim’s collection (LC4291) that is from Flå in Hallingdal. The breastplate from the same outfit inspired the banded colors in the sweater. Oleana began production of the “Vesterheim jakke” (cardigan) in May 1999.
