Tankard

Carved from burl. Cylindrical body rests on four lions couchant which form feet. A large hand grasp is applied with a wood peg to the side. Top of handle has royal crowned lion holding a globe on a thumb latch which opens domed cover. There is a lion in flat relief in the center of the cover surrounded by a beaded border. Lower part of the cover is carved with stylized urn and flower motifs.
