Stylized presentation of three princesses and their three bewitched lovers in forms of deer, bird, and fish. Cotton fiskegarn warp. Two-ply wool weft. Various tapestry techniques used.
Inscription: G. Munthe for designer Gerhard Munthe woven in upper right corner. DNH, for workshop Den Norske Husflidsforening woven in lower right corner. De 3 Brodre (title of piece, The Three Brothers) woven along the lower border.
Designed by Gerhard Munthe. Presented to the Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill, by King Haakon VI and Queen Maude.
