Pictorial tapestry of a prince and princess riding into the forest from a castle (in top left corner). They are lured by golden birds belonging to the troll woman or witch. Wide top border of geometric shapes. Wide lower border of flowers. Also narrow side borders.Several types of tapestry techniques have been used.

Inscriptions: Initials GM, for designer Gerhard Munthe, in the lower left corner; DNH, for the workshop Den Norske Husflidsforening in the lower right corner; and OR for the weaver is in the upper right corner.

The original tapestry, on which this one was based, was woven ca. 1899. This tapestry was woven in about 1935. Title is Gulfuglene or Golden Birds.
