Trunk with Valdres style rosemaling. Straight sides, highly arched top. Two supporting metal bands down the back and over the top with short metal pieces 10″ long on each corner. Box set in on right side of interior.

Probably painted by Helge Olsen Kvale from Vestre Slidre, Valdres, who also worked in western Norway. Kvale was possibly the son of Ola Hermundsen Berge. — Nils Ellingsgard
