Trunk with Hallingdal style rosemaling on front and side panels. Rosemaling on top is worn and faded. Interior is undecorated.
The trunk was painted by Torkjell T. Sausgardhaugen who was born in Hol, Norway in 1801 and emigrated to the Unites States in 1856.
The trunk belonged to Ciselia Christendatter. Ciselia emigrated to Benson, MN around 1872. She was the sister of Lars Chrisensen, a famous woodcarver.
